My little sister, Alina, graduated from high school yesterday....talk about time flying by! I can't believe she's possibly old enough to be graduating! Her grad was at a beautiful location in Victoria, on the grounds of Royal Roads University. It was a beautiful day, and I am so proud of her!
My family loves camping, and French Beach Campground is one of our favourite spots! We were there for a number of days and enjoyed ourselves immensely! We haven't been camping as a family for a few years, so this was a big treat! Here are a few of my favourite shots from the trip...
Ripples in the sand...
Luke throwing rocks in the ocean, and the wind stealing his hat!
My youngest brother Jordan, looking quite GQ!
My sister Alina looking rather annoyed to still have the camera pointed in her face! haha!
I love taking photos of Jordan, his facial expressions are so hilarious! :)
One of my favourite photos of my mom - you can see the beach in her sunglasses...
Jake LOVES being at the beach!!
My dad, taking a nap on the beach, one of his favourite things to do...
We've been camping for the past few days with my family - I have tons of photos to edit of our fun, but I wanted to start with some samples of the wonderful greenery and foliage that Vancouver Island is known for....I miss it so much! These were all taken at the French Beach Campground, just past Sooke, B.C.
My family hasn't had a family portrait taken in a long time, so I set up my tripod and Luke made sure we were all centered, etc and took wonderful photos of us! Thanks honey! The photo of Luke and I was taken by my brother Jordan...

Luke and I are in Victoria now!!!! We are so excited to finally be here - we're here for a few weeks, primarily to see my sister Alina graduate from high school....but also to go camping, see all the extended family, and just enjoy the west coast, because we both miss it so much!
We had been telling my family that we were going to be arriving tomorrow, but it turned out that Luke was able to leave work a day earlier, so we decided to surprise them and arrive today, a day earlier!!! It was SO great! My mom and dad were so shocked!
Here are some photos that I took from the ferry on the way to Vancouver Island....
Luke took me for a drive up to the top of Mt. Evans today! We had a wonderful time! What an amazing drive that is! I recommend it to anyone who is in the I-70 corridor area - it is a must see! Apparently the weather is only good enough for the road up to the top to stay open a few weeks out of the year, in the summer obviously, so take advantage of it while you can! :)
I did learn though, that when you have a Jeep, you're expected to drive through every mud puddle, water puddle, etc that you can....sometimes this is fun, and sometimes this can turn out badly! :) Luke saw this giant puddle of water, and decided to show his crazy manliness and drive on through it - well it was SO DEEP!! We got majorly stuck....like majorly! Another Jeep eventually drove by, and we hooked up to them and they pulled us out. It was quite the adventure :) I will have to try and edit some of the "stuck" photos soon - the only problem was that we were so stuck and in so deep that I was unable to get out - so I could only take photos of the water seeping in around us! haha! Good times all around though!
I hope to capture the beauty of the every day - to emphasize the details of life that we take for granted and make them a thing of beauty.
As an aside....I hate to have to stamp my photos with a watermark....however I have seen many peoples photos stolen online and I would like to make it as hard as possible for that to happen. Thanks for your understanding!
